If we don't know something, we write it down

An analytical tool is dangerous when it pretends to be complete when it isn’t.

MD1Q assesses the available data on a league-by-league basis. It shows what data is available. If something is missing, it states that it’s missing and doesn’t silently fill in the gaps. Where an estimated value is shown—for example, xG estimated from shots—the label clearly indicates this.

An incomplete sample is worse than nothing, because the staff would assume it’s complete. That’s why we show the gaps as well.
